Command Team Address

Thanks for checking out the rules section of the USS Sirona site! These rules are set in place to not only provide guidance to new players, but also to help the sim continue to be a fun and enjoyable place for everyone. It is expected for all members of the sim, including the command team to follow these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any member of the command team.

Section 1: Age Rating 13+

The USS Sirona has an age rating of 13+, and as such is open to the general public, and thus may have some the following: slight usage of offensive language (cursing), may contain violence, but must not contain graphic description of violence or injuries and may only contain references to sexual conduct, and may not contain description of sexual intercourse or erotic situations.

Section 2: Player Conduct

This section is focused on keeping the sim as an open and respectful environment. All players, be they the freshest new person, to the command team must comply with these rules, both in character (IC) and out of character (OOC).
⦁All players must be respectful of one another. There will be no activity that would be considered racist, homophobic, islamaphobic (etc) or disrespectful to any player.
⦁Any disagreements between players should be brought privately to the command team, and not be discussed or argued about on the site, in the forums or via mailing lists. All concerns will be carefully discussed and be held in the strictest confidence.
⦁All players are expected to act within the realistic confines of their character. There will be no superpowered characters who can resist a phaser blast at point blank range, then lift a shuttlecraft with one hand.
⦁Players own their own characters and NPCs.
⦁NEVER write for someone else's character unless you have received permission from them.
⦁If you want to create an NPC in a particular department, make sure to ask the department head first to make sure they're okay with it.
⦁Please keep in mind the time period you are simming in. Some things which might be normal to say or do today, may not be in the future.
⦁Any concerns or questions are to be brought to the command teams attention immediately.

Section 3: Posting Requirements

It's important for all players to post regularly to keep the storyline going, and for the sim to continue to be fun. We know that sometimes it can be hard to know what to post, we've all been there. If you don't know what to post, or what your character should be doing, drop a quick message to your department head, the command team, or ask in the out of character thread for help.
⦁Players are expected to post at least once or twice a week (this will not be enforced if players are part of big joint posts that are taking time), and should reply to TAGs promptly within two to three days.
⦁Make sure to put down a title, time stamp, and location in the appropriate fields in your posts.
⦁Near the end of a mission (usually 5 days prior), a role call will be sent to everyone to ascertain whether or not they will continue on to the next mission. Failure to answer the role call will mean your removal from the sim.
⦁If a player hasn't logged into the site for a period of one month, and has failed to answer any private messages via the site or E-Mails sent to them by the command staff, they will be removed from the game.

Section 4: Leave of Absences/Extended Leave of Absences

We know that sometimes real life personal events and situations come into everyone's life. Real life has to come first before anything. If you feel you need to take a leave of absence, please let the command team know and we will give you the time you need. This way we are able to inform the crew and adjust the story and at your return we will inform you of the status of the mission and help you back into the story.
